Smyrna's 5th Annual Boat Day & Waterfest will be Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Jeffereson Springs boat ramp. Boat Day activities including free kayak and canoe rides while Waterfest is an opportunity for individuals to learn the importance of maintaining and improving the water quality of our streams and groundwater sources. This free event allows individuals to visit professionally staffed water quality and boating safety displays.

Everyone participating in Boat Day will need to sign a Hold Harmless Waiver. All participants will be provided a life preserver and is then allowed to paddle a canoe and/or kayak in a safe area of the Stones River, away from passing power boats. Experienced paddlers are used as "spotters" to help provide protection and oversight. All children less than the age of ten must be accompanied by a responsible adult while paddling.
